Enjoy this recording of live group chanting of Hanuman Chalisas at Bhaktifest in Joshua Tree, California. It's been a tradition for many years now for us to get together for an hour and immerse in this powerful devotional prayer. In this video are three different melodies: Ocean of Ram Hanuman Chalisa & Nina Hanuman Chalisa from my album 'Antarayaami-Knower of All Hearts" and Ramaya Hanuman Chalisa which will be released on my second album in spring 2018. We have included a very simple English transliteration of the words to help pronounce the words along with the video to be helpful for those who wish to learn this prayer. Without using diacritical marks it is hard to represent all the Indian sounds accurately, but it's a start.

We will journey together through this 40-verse hymn, the Hanuman Chalisa, a devotional prayer that is chanted widely throughout India and around the world. A version of this chant 'Nina Hanuman Chalisa' is available for free listening here on Insight Timer. In the sacred text of Ramayana or Ramacharitmanasa, Hanuman is revered as the perfect devotee of the divine presence in the form Sri Ram, and an embodiment of intelligence, wisdom, compassion, courage, and surrender. While we invoke his qualities in this prayer, we remind ourselves that each of us is a reflection of Hanuman and can find these same qualities of perfection in our own hearts.
Flow of Grace Immersion with Krishna Das and Nina Rao - Meditation, Chanting & Story-Telling for Entering Into the Presence of the Powerful, Compassionate Being Known as Hanuman. We will go over the text, pronunciation, and meaning of Hanumat Stavan and the Hanuman Chalisa and go deeper with readings from the Sundarakand (the ‘beautiful’ section of the Ramacharitmanasa) and KD’s book, Flow of Grace. We will spend time discussing how Hanuman lives in our every-day lives, as well as our relationship to practice and the Guru.
